Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

Boy Scout Troop 120

Boy Scout Troop 120 offers a year-round program designed to offer and encourage effective character, citizenship, fitness training, and many other useful skills for boys age 11-17.

In addition to camping, Scouts and adult leaders enjoy activities such as rock-climbing and rappelling, canoeing, target-shooting, and more while accommodating the needs of today’s busy families.

Boy Scout Meetings are held every Monday Evening at 6:30PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 3418 E 4th Street, Owensboro, Kentucky.

Scouting Heritage

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) was founded by Chicago publisher William Boyce on February 8, 1910. At that time in the US, there were several other loosely structured outdoor-oriented youth organizations, some using the name “Boy Scout” and some using other names, and there were already a number of troops in existence using some variation of the British Scout program.

Merit Badges

Merit badges are awards earned by youth members of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), based on activities within an area of study by completing a list of periodically updated requirements. The purpose of the merit badge program is to allow Scouts to examine subjects to determine if they would like to further pursue them as a career or a vocation.

Our Future

Our future insures that the boys in our troop grow by faith and by the principles of the Scout Oath and Law. We also strive and live by the Boy Scout Motto, “Doing a good turn daily.”  Scouting founder Lord Baden-Powell once stated that “Scouting is a game with a purpose”.  We firmly believe in that and apply it in our meetings and outings. Our troop is a Scout led troop which means that the Scouts make the plan and the adults assist. Come Visit and have fun!
